Christmas Part 2 - Arkansas
posted by sara

The week after Christmas we finally took our first trip to Arkansas since the babies were born! The trip turned out to be a success despite the fact that we’d never traveled so far or been away from home for so long. Here are some things that made it great…

-         We left Illinois during the babies’ bed time and drove for about 4 hours then stopped and got a hotel. We were halfway to Arkansas and the babies had slept the whole way so far!

-         We stayed in one place the whole time we were in Fayetteville. My sister was so kind to let her place be our home base and that really helped.

-         We met Nana for lunch a few times and the babies did awesome going out for lunches. They liked seeing family, seeing new places, and enjoyed eating new foods like okra and black eyed peas.

-         Our family and our friends Shannon, Rhonda, and Leigh were so sweet to come see us where we were staying so we didn’t have to worry as much about coordinating baby sleeping and feeding times with meeting people schedules. We loved seeing the Millers, too!

-         There were so many highlights of our longer than usual and fairly relaxed family visit. My favorite parts included playing games and having meals with the whole family, playing outside on the rip stick and trampoline, taking walks, and the handstand contest with Alex and Macy.

-    Of course we wish we could have spent more quality time with more people but we were thrilled to have such a smooth first visit.

Here are a few of Aaron and Audrey’s firsts from our trip toAR…

first time meeting Grandpa Harris and Grandma Becky

first time living with 2 dogs and 2 cats

first time on a trampoline

first trip to Chick-fil-a

Audreys first time climbing up a flight of stairs

Aaron’s first two teeth (just before and just after the trip)

There are lovely pictures to accompany this post that you'll hopefully see very soon...
