Stuck Inside
posted by sara

We walked almost every single day through the summer and fall. Sometimes we took 3 walks in one day. We walked to the park, to the library, around the neighborhood. I stopped by a yard sale once a few streets away and a lady said, “we see you all the time!” Nathan was sitting on the front porch with the babies a few months ago and a woman and her son walked by and said, “so that’s where the twins live.” I like getting out of the house and letting the babies get a change of scenery.

But  now that it’s cold out I’m feeling kind of stuck. By the time 4:00 rolls around I need… something. I’m feeling some cold weather blahs this week. I guess there are a lot of other factors playing into the funk. We’ve got some possibly serious health problems that have popped up on both sides of the family. In my super plan to eliminate pumping I got another infection. We’ve got two babies with runny noses, and for some reason Audrey has started waking up multiple times in the night.

In an attempt to brighten our home I have tried a few things. I put up some Christmas decorations, brought in some snow for the babies to play with (see their reactions below), and took them to the store in their very cutest matchingest clothes.

I’m very open to any ideas you might have about how to stay sane during the winter months with babies at home!

Pictures: Audrey interacted with the snow like she does most other things- by touching it over and over with one finger. Aaron just wanted to eat it.
